EUROPEAN LAUNCH OF MARITIME COUNCIL<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The European launch of the Global Institute of Logistics Maritime Logistics Council was held on 3rd October in the Hotel Le Plaza in Brussels.<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n

The Council was launched as a major initiative by the Institute to develop joined-up thinking in maritime logistics. The Maritime Logistics Council has as it’s aim the promotion of ‘a true collaborating culture’ among the different maritime logistics stakeholders, said GIL’s CEO Kieran Ring.<\/p>\n

\nThe Council provides the global maritime logistics industry with a forum through which global shippers, 3PLs, carriers, port authorities and terminal operators could collaborate closely to share their knowledge, so as to improve supply chain efficiency and security.
\nThe Council had its Asian launch in Shanghai in April of this year and its US launch in Atlanta in June.
\nThe Executive Directors of the Maritime Logistics Council are Wilmer Aguilar Yantian International Container Terminals, Marc Castagnet, SgT, Michael Stolarcyzk Exel USA, Paul Goldsbrough Hellmann Worldwide Logistics and Ben Cook Home Depot
\nThe formation of the Council has been widely welcomed in the Industry and now enjoys the support of some of the worlds leading shippers and logistics service providers.
\nBoth China and the USA now have their own Chapters within the Council and it is expected that the formation of a European Chapter will follow the Council’s launch in Brussels. The first meeting of the China Chapter was held in the Hilton Hotel, Shanghai on Saturday 16th September.<\/p>\n
